Koki`o `ula  Hibiscus kokio ssp. saintjohnianus

Family:  Malvaceae

Description:  Kokio `ula is our only native Hibiscus with orange flowers. In the landscape it can be used as an accent for color or as hedge material. Kokio `ula is smaller in stature than the white hibiscus species. This shrub can be 3 to 10 feet depending on vigor and pruning. We propagate this plant from cuttings and it is usually sold in a 1 gallon pot.
