Ma`o hau hele  Hibiscus brackenridgei  A. Gray

Description:  Ma`o hau hele is our state flower. A vigorous shrub up to 15 feet tall, this plant thrives in the full sun and has low water requirements. Unfortunately, this hibiscus is prone to insect damage and care must be taken to avoid excessive damage to the leaves. This plant is endangered.
