Blue Jade Strongylodon macrobotrys
(non-native lei flower)
Blue jade is a popular lei flower endemic to the Philipines. This woody vine grows vigorously and requires a strong support trellis. Cascading flower clusters of a striking turqouise make this a prized addition to any lei garden. Blue jade likes full sun and tolerates partial shade. Heavy pruning may encourage more flowers in the Spring/Summer.
It is not recommended to grow this directly on a house or structure due to its fast growing nature and heavy weight at maturity.
