ʻHassʻ
The Hass avocado tree holds the distinction of being the largest commercially produced variety. Hass avocados are prized for their excellent flavor and oil content, making them a favorite among consumers. The fruit starts off green and gradually turns black as it ripens, a characteristic that helps distinguish it in the marketplace. One of the most recognizable features of the Hass avocado is its pebbly skin, which adds to its appeal. On average, Hass fruits weigh about 10 to 12 ounces each. At maturity, Hass avocado trees can reach heights of 15 to 25 feet and widths of 15 feet. With a ripening period extending from April to September, the Hass variety offers an exceptionally long harvesting season, ensuring a steady supply of delicious avocados throughout the warmer months. Type A flowers.
