Hō'awa Pittosporum sp
Hō'awa is a 10-30 foot sized endemic hawaiian tree with fragrant, white flowers. The bark is light colored and smooth, contrasting nicely with the dark, leathery, leaves which have pale to golden hairs on the underside. The walnut sized fruits split open when ripe, revealing a striking orange interior. This tree thrives in full sun with low water requirements and works well as a focal or accent tree.
